A transformer is a power transmission and transformation device manufactured based on electromagnetic principles, and its magnetic core system is a major component. The performance of the magnetic core material directly affects the transformer's technical and economic indicators. This article introduces a distribution transformer manufactured using amorphous alloy as the magnetic core material. Its no-load loss is reduced by 75% compared to the new S9 type distribution transformer of the same capacity, resulting in significant energy savings.
In power systems, energy losses during generation, supply, and consumption mainly consist of two parts: line losses and transformer losses. Besides a certain number of transmission transformers, there are also distribution transformers operating at the ends of the power system. These transformers constitute a large proportion of the total number and capacity, making them indispensable main equipment in the distribution network, with a very wide distribution area. The country is continuously constructing and upgrading its power grid. If all distribution transformers could adopt amorphous alloy core transformers, it would not only save the country a significant amount of energy but also achieve significant environmental benefits.
